A Poem: Amanyi River
By Ugwu R. Ifesinachi September 5, 2019Share this
The great river of all rivers in the universe,
Thou seated in the middle of flower and the vegetation of life,
Thou gave inspiration to the great philosophers and scholars,
All seek thee for life and resurrection.
Thou stand naked to embrace the living and the dead,
Children stand and sit with thy flowing up and down movement,
Thy pleasure and comfort enticed the living creature,
All adored you in naked nature to enjoy thy wealth.
The great river of all rivers, ever young and sweet,
Thou endowed all with neutral temperature,
A goddess and ancient queen of the bush,
All need you to survive.
A thousand words can’t describe thy epitome of beauty,
Great of all the rivers.
